Laser Treatment for BPH
Green light laser
Green light laser is a type of laser (532nm Wavelength) used for laser prostatectomy. It treats prostate enlargement by vaporisation of the prostate tissue. Its clinical outcome is similar to TURP with fewer complications and low rate of sexual side effects postoperatively.
Evolve diode laser
Evolve diode laser is a type of laser (980nm wavelength) used to treat prostate enlargement by vaporisation of the prostate tissue. It is unique over other lasers as it can vaporise even highly fibrotic prostate tissue. Thus is even effective in patient with recurrence of Benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) after previous Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and also in those who have been taking drugs that make the prostate tissue more fibrotic and more resistant to other laser treatments.
